Brrr winters snowy appearance

Not much going on except we got our first snow fall and the freezing temperatures that go with it. The snow is pretty but I am not a cold weather person and the freezing temps don't agree with me lol.

I am so ready for spring and it's not even winter yet! View from my front door today.

Woodland scene

The woodlands embossing folder is one of my favorite folders along with the truck from Country Livin' it created a beautiful card using a technique I've never tried before. I thought it would be intimidating to try but after a couple of tries I'm definitely satisfied with the card. I am going to try the same technique with the same folder but using the elk from the Wilderness Awaits stamp set.

Everyone needs a little snow

No one wants snow more than this little guy. Trying to get a few more Christmas cards done before next week and I have a few more Christmas stamp sets I haven't tried yet.
This is from the stamp set Jars of Cheer 142161 and uses the coordinating everyday jar framelits 141490.

My own Taco Truck

I wanted to use some of my scraps today on the Tasty Trucks stamp set that you can get free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This is a super fun stamp set the will let you do a taco truck, hot truck or a ice cream truck.

I did the truck in layers to give it dimension that really isn't visible in the picture. This is what I did.

I stamped the truck on scrap card stock and then again on the cardstock I wanted to be my main layer. On the truck stamped on the scrap paper I stamped two tacos and colored them in and then set them aside.

On the truck that will be the main focus point,  I cut out the center around the farm ad awning . I colored in the images with watercolor pencils. I cut a small piece of window sheet and adhered it to the back. Using dimensionals, I layered the trucks together. Using another sheet of scrap paper I stamped just the awning, colored it in and layered onto the awning part.

The seaside embossing folder is the embossed background. The tree is from the Santa's Sleigh thinlets. The clouds are from Outdoor Adventure framelits.

I hope you give this stamp set a try. You'll LOVE it!

It's a wonderful time under the tree

Penny the kitten has decided her favorite place to be is under the tree. She doesn't care she's not supposed to be under there because she has managed to break a few ornaments and almost knocked it over a few times. This is such an adorable picture of her and we enjoy watching the wonder of Christmas through her eyes because even though she a cat, she's a kid too.

Hot Air Balloons

Are so majestic when airborne. You can often see people pulled to the side of the road to watch the beautiful show in the sky and I'm no exception. Not a real airborne balloon but this card gives the feel of a balloon in the air. The stamp set is Lift Me Up and is bundled with the Up and Away thinlet dies. Watercolor pencils were used to make the colored background of the balloon. Wink of Stella gave the white overlay sparkle. Simple but elegant card.

Beautiful You Stamp Set

I completely fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw in the catalog and knew that set was going to take residence in my home. I love the way it celebrates women and the sentiments compliment the images so well.  I used our new watercolor pencils to color the images with the aqua painter. The colors went on so smoothly and blended perfectly.

I sponged both sentiments with ink but used a stitched square framelits to cut it out to add more dimension. I can see this becoming a framed image to hang on my wall in my studio.

Totally awesome day

Got home from attending a small craft fair in one of our surrounding towns today.
Fair was slow at times but did okay. Of course I forgot to take pictures.

Gave out catalogs and had fun sharing my love for Stampin Up products.

Had a blast interacting with fellow vendors and met some really interesting people. Sometimes the success of a craft show is not measured in monetary value but in the value of making new friends.

My granddaughter had a blast by talking us into trading with another video for a hat.

That pretty much sums up my day.

Pencil Packs

These little pencil packs will be
a great stocking stuffer for the kids.

Using the Cookie Cutter Christmas, Merry Mice and Jar of Cheer stamp set to create these cute little
pencil packs.

Aren't they adorable. They were super fun and so easy to do and a great way to use all your little
scraps of paper.

I got the pencil packs from Dollar General. They came 8 to a pack so I was able to get two pencil packs from each one.  Alternating patterns of the pencil, I place 4 in a pack of the cello bags.
The real read card stock was cut at 2x4 and scored at 2 inches. I cut the whisper white card stock at   1 7/8 x 1 7/8 to layer on the red. I stamped the images with Momento Black ink and cut out using the cookie cutter punch for Santa and the Reindeer. I colored them in using the Stamping Up markers except for the black shoes and belt and I used a regular marker for them. I used dimensional to adhere them to the tag and then using snail adhesive I attached them to the cello bags.

To stamp the Merry Mice image on the whisper white, I used a post it note to cover the other mice when inking the selected image. I used black, real red and garden green (I think) to stamp the sentiments, Merriest Wishes came from Christmas Magic Stamp set and used the classic label punch to cut the sentiments.

Craft Fair

Last Saturday, November 19th was my first craft fair as a Stampin Up Demonstrator.
I have done craft fairs before for jewelry and crochet items. I've never been to a craft fair that
had a Stamping Up booth (not a stall, but a booth. I hate when people call them stalls) so this would be a new venture for me and I usually share a booth with my daughter. So we had three separate tables with each bearing their own items.

At first I was hesitant to add my Stamping Up display because as we all know, craft shows are hit
and miss. You never know what will sell. The coordinator of the craft show had a cancellation and I was able to purchase another spot. Well to make a long story short, I did extremely well.

My cards sold well and so did my Hershey Nugget packs. I only sold 2 of the mini coffee cups and I almost sold out of the fingernail file holders. I even got a request to do a card for a baby boy.  Gave away some catalogs and even had people inquire about Paper Pumpkin.  A few people even asked about hosting parties. Hopefully this will turn into some leads for me.

Excited for the next craft Fair on December 3rd.

Three Step Stamping

To me this is one of the hardest things to do. I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler! So how in the world am I ever going to line up two images with the base!

I decided to conquer my fears and just DO it. Here is my finished card.

I stamped the background image with Timeless Textures in Cajun Craze and Smoky Slate ink. This stamp set has so many great images in it and I love the way it turned out. I layered that to Cajun Craze card stock for the base of the card.

I used the Baby Bear stamp set to layer the three images and I am so pleased it turned out right. For the bear I used Early Espresso and crumb cake and found by reversing the steps and starting with the darker color made things easier to line up! YEA!!!

Scallop circles frame the bear, then layered that with dimensional to a stitched frame lit and then a large scallop circle. I then used the larges circle framelit to cut through all the layers of the card. I added a piece of white card stock to the inside and  stamped the bottom right corner with Smokey slate ink. I used the cut opening to position the bear to the inside of the card and after stamping the sentiment again in smokey gray, I used the classic label punch to place under the sentiment.

Motivation

Such a big work that can have huge impact on your life, your future and most of all yourself.

Where do you begin? Why at the beginning with goal setting and then developing a plan to achieve  that goal.

Motivation can also be trying a  new technique you have never tried before or just managing to make time for the things you love to do.

Today for me motivation came in the form of sitting down in my studio and working on mini coffee cups for the craft fair I will be doing on Saturday (of course bad weather is supposed to come rolling in).

So I decided to work with the One Wild Ride Stamp set and do cups for the guys and the gals. This is what I came up with.  On the black one I did all the stamping in white ink and embossed the Route 66 and the Life's a Journey. The tags were just stamped with the white ink. I attached everything with dimensional and filled the cups with 10 Hershey Kisses. I hope everyone likes them as much as I do.

The pink cups were just stamped with black archival ink. I used the Curvy Keepsake framelits to cut the tags.

Alaska Goal

Alaska Goal
This is the goal I am working toward for this coming Stamping' Up year. It's a huge deal for me because I've always wanted to go to Alaska. I have a year to collect enough points to earn this trip in 2018.
It's going to take a tremendous amount of work and at times I tend to get discouraged because it is so huge.
Trying to reach that goal with online classes that I will start in November, home workshops and building my Stamping Up team.
Will I make it? I don't know but I do know it is worth trying for.
Anyone interested in hosting a workshop (with great perks for the hostess) either online, a catalog workshop or in home work shop, I would love to be your demonstator. You can either be a career demon or a hobby demo to get the discounts for yourself. I would love to have you on my team!

Star of Light Christmas Card

This is a practice card for an upcoming card swap I will be participating in. I made this sample with the dapper denim color palate and the Star of Light Stamps and cut the stars using the Starlight Thinlets.  This was the first time using this layering technique for me and I know I need to tweek it a little bit but I am satisfied with the over all look.  The actual card for the swap will be done it reds. I'm really excited to get started on it but also a little nervous since I am participating in a swap with a lot of demos way better than me. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hershey nugget treat box for Halloween

This little treat box was fun to make. It's filled with 8 Hershey nuggets of various flavors including my favorite, dark chocolate. It also matches the card in the previous post. Used the same Cookie Cutter Halloween set and I used the box maker to custom make the box. Love this little guy and the chocolate he guards

Scarecrows, crows and a haystack

Thinking outside of the box with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets (141478) to see if I could make a haystack with the waves thinlets. This is what I came up with and I thought it looked like a haystack until my grandsons (all three of them) said it looked like a teepee. Oh well, to some it's a teepee but to be it's a haystack. Also used the Halloween Cookie Cutter stamps (142255) and the punch (140396) to stamp and cut the scarecrow and the crow. The pumpkins are the smallest and the medium sized swirly circles and the sun.  I used the sentiment from Marquee Messages (141727) and the Halloween Night enamel dots (142025) and the Halloween Night Baker's Twine (142027). This was a quick, easy and fun card to make. The envelope has a matching scarecrow stamped on it and also inside the card.

Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ UP! demonstrators all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Welcome from the beautiful state of New Mexico. I am a new Stamping  Up! demonstrator.  I joined this blog to help support cancer awareness of all types. Every family has been affected by this disease is some way or another and my family is no exception. I lost my husband to brain cancer, an aunt to lung cancer and another family member was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. By participating in this blog hop, i hope to help spread the word on how early detection is the best way to begin early treatment.

My submission for this blog hop is a card with the simple saying "It's all about hope" which pretty much sums up the frame of mind you must maintain to become a survivor. A positive attitude is the most important thing to have.

Supplies:

Whisper White Card Stock thick
Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Paper
BoHo Chic Embossing Folder
Big Shot
Blushing Bride solid bakers twine
Rhinestone Basic jewels
Blushing Bride Ink
Layer Circle Framelits
Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set
Botanical Builder Framelits,
Blossom Builder Punch
snail adhesive
Round Paper Doily
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin' Up! bone folder
Stampin' Trimmer

Instructions:
Card Base whisper white thick card 5 1/2 x 11 and scored at 4 1/4
Flirty Flamingo DSP 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White 3 3/4 x 4 3/4
Blushing Bride Cardstock and 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 and  embossed with BoHo Chic embossing folder. You will need the cut two of the smallest scallop circles in white and 2 of the second largest circles the DSP. I used the reverse side of the stripes paper to assemble the bra.

To layer bra, add snail adhesive to the small white scallop circles and adhere to the back of the DSP.
Over lap the two larger circles slightly with snail adhesive to create the bra. Using the Blossom Builder punch I cut the small flower out of white. The smaller flower is cut out of DSP using the Botanical Builders framelits and the smallest 4 petal flower. I layered them to the center of the bra using the liquid glue and then added a small rhinestone.

Cut a circle with the layering 2 1/2 circle frame lit and emboss the the embossing folder.
Attach the circle to the doily with snail adhesive.

Assemble your card base by folding on the score line and burnish with a bone folder. Layer the embossed blushing bride card stock to the whisper white piece and then to the DSP. Wrap the blushing bride twine around the layered base 3 times and secure to back. Using snail adhesive attach layers to folded card base.

Using the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in two sections by just inking the hope part on the stamp and stamped on a scrap piece of whisper white using Blushing Bride ink. Then using the blushing bride ink I stamped its all about over hope. Cut the sentiment to the size and shape you desire and sponge the edges with the Blushing Bride ink. To complete the card I added 3 rhinestones to the left side of the card under the twine.

I am excited you  are here. To continue to be inspired whether you’ve come from the person previous to me or after me (Janette Zmich)  on the list below all participants are listed to help you as you journey among us being filled with pink inspiration.

Wilderness Weekend at the NRA Whittington Center

On October 14-16, 2016, I am planning a bundled class using Wilderness Awaits and Lovely as a Tree stamp sets. The bundle will include stamp sets, ink pads and several items for $62 per person

I have made arrangements with the Whittington Center to stay in their Competitor Housing. I have booked 5 rooms that accommodate 2 people with twin beds. Some of the rooms have a private balcony. The cost for both nights per person is $44. The chef at the restaurant has agreed to provide meals for us at $25 per person for the entire weekend.

I will be announcing this to my customers is a few days. I am so excited to hold this class in such a beautiful setting with the abundant wildlife that will there for viewing. This is also during the elk rut season so we will be able to hear the elk bugle. How exciting is that.  Here are some of the pictures of where we will be staying.

Tried my hand at resist embossing

I must admit I love this technique. I used the stamp set Thoughtful Branches. I stamped the tree trunks with early espresso and then stamped over them again with versamark and the added clear embossing powder. I then stamped the trees again with the branches stamp in emerald envy and the other in old olive followed by versamark and the clear embossing powder again. Using the stramp to add snow mounds to the bottom of the card I used the versamark and embossing powder again.

I sponged the background with daubers and started with soft sky the pool party and finally dapper denim. I stamped the sentiment with early espresso directly onto the card and assembled it. A simple card but so beautiful. I can't wait to try his technique again.

Birthday Fiesta

Got together with my sister today and she had ordered the Birthday Fiesta and Fiesta Time Framelit bundle in a workshop order. I had looked at this stamp set several times in the catalog and thought it was cute but never ordered it. After playing around with it yesterday, I decided it is one of the must haves to add to my collection. There are so many cute things on here. This card is what I can up with using the bundle and the Festive Birthday Suite. Cute, Cute Cute!

Creative mess

this is what my table and craft area looks like while I'm working. No wonder I can't find anything in it. Lol

Holiday Catalog

Sneak preview of the Holiday Catalog that goes live September 1 and a couple of the stamp sets. Lots of great product inside!

Mr. Funny Bones Shaker Card

Finally got to play with this set from the holiday catalog. I wanted to make a shaker card but wanted to make it different. After much thought I decided to stamp the skeleton parts with versamark and our white embossing powder and use them as part of the shaker elements. Love the way my skeleton turned out.

On a creative roll

With this scrapbook layout. My granddaughter took this picture of herself and her mom found it. To me she look absolutely beautiful here and I knew it had to be a layout.  I used the Flourshing stamp set to heat emboss the border in white embossing powder. The flowers were stamped using all the colors of the stamp pads I currently have and then I fussy cut them.  I layered them to add dimension  and used dimensional on some of them. I stamped the sentiment in calypso coral, added a bow to the A and added DSP to the photo. I love the way this turned out and my granddaughter did too.

Simple Elegant Card

Using the Thoughtful Branches bundle (144328).  This bundle is a limited purchase from August 2 to August 31 only. This is a quick simple card to make and so elegant when done. The splash of color of the birds and sentiment make this card pop.

The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 using whisper white card stock. The second layer is also whisper white card stock and measures 4 x 5 1/4. I used stampin dimensionals to pop this layer up from the base.
The tree was cut using my Big Shot and the  Beautiful Branches thinly dies and then adhered to the card using the fine tip glue pen.  I stamped the birds and sentiment using watermelon wonder ink and the again using the dies cut the birds. The birds are on a dimensional to give dimension to the card. I used a punch to cut the sentiment which I added dimensionals to.

I love the look of this card. Makes me want to send it to myself lol.
