Alaska Goal

Alaska Goal
This is the goal I am working toward for this coming Stamping' Up year. It's a huge deal for me because I've always wanted to go to Alaska. I have a year to collect enough points to earn this trip in 2018.
It's going to take a tremendous amount of work and at times I tend to get discouraged because it is so huge.
Trying to reach that goal with online classes that I will start in November, home workshops and building my Stamping Up team.
Will I make it? I don't know but I do know it is worth trying for.
Anyone interested in hosting a workshop (with great perks for the hostess) either online, a catalog workshop or in home work shop, I would love to be your demonstator. You can either be a career demon or a hobby demo to get the discounts for yourself. I would love to have you on my team!

Star of Light Christmas Card

This is a practice card for an upcoming card swap I will be participating in. I made this sample with the dapper denim color palate and the Star of Light Stamps and cut the stars using the Starlight Thinlets.  This was the first time using this layering technique for me and I know I need to tweek it a little bit but I am satisfied with the over all look.  The actual card for the swap will be done it reds. I'm really excited to get started on it but also a little nervous since I am participating in a swap with a lot of demos way better than me. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hershey nugget treat box for Halloween

This little treat box was fun to make. It's filled with 8 Hershey nuggets of various flavors including my favorite, dark chocolate. It also matches the card in the previous post. Used the same Cookie Cutter Halloween set and I used the box maker to custom make the box. Love this little guy and the chocolate he guards

Scarecrows, crows and a haystack

Thinking outside of the box with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets (141478) to see if I could make a haystack with the waves thinlets. This is what I came up with and I thought it looked like a haystack until my grandsons (all three of them) said it looked like a teepee. Oh well, to some it's a teepee but to be it's a haystack. Also used the Halloween Cookie Cutter stamps (142255) and the punch (140396) to stamp and cut the scarecrow and the crow. The pumpkins are the smallest and the medium sized swirly circles and the sun.  I used the sentiment from Marquee Messages (141727) and the Halloween Night enamel dots (142025) and the Halloween Night Baker's Twine (142027). This was a quick, easy and fun card to make. The envelope has a matching scarecrow stamped on it and also inside the card.

Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ UP! demonstrators all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Welcome from the beautiful state of New Mexico. I am a new Stamping  Up! demonstrator.  I joined this blog to help support cancer awareness of all types. Every family has been affected by this disease is some way or another and my family is no exception. I lost my husband to brain cancer, an aunt to lung cancer and another family member was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. By participating in this blog hop, i hope to help spread the word on how early detection is the best way to begin early treatment.

My submission for this blog hop is a card with the simple saying "It's all about hope" which pretty much sums up the frame of mind you must maintain to become a survivor. A positive attitude is the most important thing to have.

Supplies:

Whisper White Card Stock thick
Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Paper
BoHo Chic Embossing Folder
Big Shot
Blushing Bride solid bakers twine
Rhinestone Basic jewels
Blushing Bride Ink
Layer Circle Framelits
Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set
Botanical Builder Framelits,
Blossom Builder Punch
snail adhesive
Round Paper Doily
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin' Up! bone folder
Stampin' Trimmer

Instructions:
Card Base whisper white thick card 5 1/2 x 11 and scored at 4 1/4
Flirty Flamingo DSP 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White 3 3/4 x 4 3/4
Blushing Bride Cardstock and 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 and  embossed with BoHo Chic embossing folder. You will need the cut two of the smallest scallop circles in white and 2 of the second largest circles the DSP. I used the reverse side of the stripes paper to assemble the bra.

To layer bra, add snail adhesive to the small white scallop circles and adhere to the back of the DSP.
Over lap the two larger circles slightly with snail adhesive to create the bra. Using the Blossom Builder punch I cut the small flower out of white. The smaller flower is cut out of DSP using the Botanical Builders framelits and the smallest 4 petal flower. I layered them to the center of the bra using the liquid glue and then added a small rhinestone.

Cut a circle with the layering 2 1/2 circle frame lit and emboss the the embossing folder.
Attach the circle to the doily with snail adhesive.

Assemble your card base by folding on the score line and burnish with a bone folder. Layer the embossed blushing bride card stock to the whisper white piece and then to the DSP. Wrap the blushing bride twine around the layered base 3 times and secure to back. Using snail adhesive attach layers to folded card base.

Using the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in two sections by just inking the hope part on the stamp and stamped on a scrap piece of whisper white using Blushing Bride ink. Then using the blushing bride ink I stamped its all about over hope. Cut the sentiment to the size and shape you desire and sponge the edges with the Blushing Bride ink. To complete the card I added 3 rhinestones to the left side of the card under the twine.
